EzPraxis is mental health billing software that bills targeted case management too. Every appointment and service flows into one billing worklist, from draft to paid.
Insurance billing
- Work from one billing worklist with a status for every stage: draft, ready to bill, billed, paid, partially paid, not paid, review, voided and non-billable.
- Change statuses in bulk, and group the list by payer, provider, clinician or client.
- Record insurer payments by check or EFT, attach the EOB, and allocate each payment line by line: allowed amount, copay, coinsurance, deductible, paid, not payable, and adjustments with CO, PR, OA and PI group codes and CARC/RARC reason codes.
- Post payments from primary, secondary and tertiary insurance.
- Export the billing worklist, the payments list and reports to Excel or CSV.
Fee schedules
- Keep a practice (self-pay) fee schedule and a separate schedule for each payer. New payers start from the practice schedule.
- For each service: code, description, duration, rate, up to four modifiers, billing in units (including the 8-minute rule), whether it needs an authorization, telehealth and preventive flags, and the clinicians who provide it.
- Set the copay rule per day, per provider or per encounter.
Client billing (Client Payments add-on)
- Create client invoices and record client payments by cash, check or card.
- Send statements by hand or on a monthly schedule, and issue receipts, refunds and credit-balance write-offs.
- Split copay, coinsurance and deductible, and track out-of-pocket maximums.
- Let clients download superbills from the client portal (EHR), and pay online with online patient payments.
Clinician invoicing
- Set compensation plans per unit or per hour, matched by clinician, client, payer, plan and service code.
- Number invoices, mark each clinician as W-2 or W-9, edit invoices by hand, and print them to PDF.
Good to know
- Client billing (invoices, statements, superbills and client payments) needs the Client Payments add-on.
- Fee schedules are per payer, not per plan.
- Clinician pay uses the rates your practice sets, not the amounts insurers actually paid. Clinician invoices have no Excel export.
- Claim files and ERA import are part of claims & insurance payments, with the Insurance Clearinghouse add-on.
